[1:4-8] Just as the bride longs for the king; the Spirit of God draws the Bride to Himself. He causes the Bride to run after Him. A bedroom is a secret place. The place that is made safest in the presence of the king. Love does not need to be complicated. We love because God first loved us. It is better than wine and brings joy to the heart. The Shulamite Bride was dark skinned because of the sun. She had to work in the vineyard and was unable to care for her skin. She asked Solomon not to look at her because her skin was dark, and she felt self-conscious about her body. The Bride, in the presence of God, is not beautiful. We are not beautiful, yet God sees the Bride and gave Himself for the Bride. Solomon believed the Shulamite Bride was the most beautiful woman.
