Philippians 3:21-4:3

28 January 2019

[3:21-4:3] Whenever Christ Jesus returns, He will take believers earthly bodies and transform them into new, glorious, immortal bodies.  Jesus does this with the same power that He will use at the final judgment when He brings everything under His control.

Paul encourages the believers to stay true to the Lord.  As believers read, study, and apply God's word to their lives, stability is produced in their lives.  Stability is a result of salvation.  Paul references the Church of Philippi as his “joy and crown.”  He expresses to the church that he expects to receive a crown for leading them to Jesus Christ while he was with them.

The Church is a group of individuals [saved by grace through faith in Jesus] who are to represent Heaven on this earth.  The Church is a group of individuals [saved by grace through faith in Jesus] who are to encourage and strengthen one another to godliness.  Paul encourages the church to settle their disagreements and be united in the Lord.

Believers names are written in the Book of Life.  The Book of Life is a document that lists every believer in Jesus Christ.  No one can enter heaven whose name is not written in the Book of Life.[i]
