He is a member of the church in Asia Minor that makes his fame as one who: wants to be the leader of the church, refuses to have anything to do with John, speaks ill of John and his ministry, refuses to welcome missionaries into his home, insists others don't help and goes as far as to banish believers from the church, if they help the missionaries.
