Pedals in the Sand

24 October 2014

We went on a long bike ride today. Jason and Becky went to visit his family so we were {on our own} today. We road 5 miles to Freshfields Village.  We spent several hours there {ate lunch} & then did some {window shopping}...

They have a station that looks vintage. It's a lovely little shopping center that has a ton of character.  We ate at The Pharmacy...  Haha - Yes {you read that right} it's a vintage inspired pharmacy.  It had a malt shop and eat-at-bar. It was fun and actually had good food.

On our ride back to the condo we saw a deer!   Guess who spotted it first?  Me.  Yayah!  Jeremiah has taught me well.  That never happens - I never see deer before Jeremiah.

We stopped by the Nature Center at Night Heron Park on Kiawah Island. It had turtles, snakes, birds, a bobcat display, alligators, and other interesting animals.

We road our bikes along the beach at sunset...  The tide was low enough for us to ride on the packed sand.  I think we probably road 6 miles or so. It's hard to tell how far you've gone when your on the ocean.

We were like treasure hunters. We filled our bikes baskets with all kinds of ocean finds...  Jeremiah found two horseshoe crabs, and a nice shell...  I found a piece of red coral and an entire sand dollar. It was a nice evening and a great way to end our vacation.

One last kiss on the beach and a beautiful beginning to our 11th year of marriage.  So thankful for God's design of marriage. So thankful for Jeremiah {my love and my friend}.
