Preparing the Field

22 July 2009

There is something wonderful about the confidence of my husband. There are some days (more than others) that I need Jeremiah's assurance, boldness, and confidence - yesterday was one of them.
We were supposed to close on our house last Friday and as of today, we are still living in an empty house. It is Wednesday and we have no guarantee (not even an idea) of when we will be closing. Yesterday, my faith was getting REALLY shaky...

Jeremiah picked me up for lunch and I asked him what he has been doing all morning. He said, "I've been preparing the fields for the rain." I looked at him and smiled with great confidence -I knew exactly what he was talking about...

Jeremiah had spent the morning loading the last of our possessions into a covered trailer. You might not think this is a big deal, but it is... this is something that I have been (with little faith) assuring him that we probably shouldn't do because our house might not sell, after all.

Jeremiah's faith (in our Heavenly Father's provision) was the exact kind of faith that I needed. What a blessing - to have a husband that walks in faith - knowing full well that God orchestrated us finding our new house & that same God will orchestrate the closing of our old house.

Wow - thank you God for blessing me with Jeremiah (my Man of Faith) who has prepared the fields for You to rain down on us!
